Waite: no official offer.

Berwick Bandits boss Peter Waite has acted quickly to respond to reports in recent press outlets that Berwick Speedway is up for sale. His reaction follows quotes published from the former Glasgow boss, Brian Sands that hit the public domain yesterday.

"It is true to say," Said Waite, "that I have spoken to Brian Sands, and during that conversation he made a verbal suggestion of an offer to take over the running of the Bandits, but that amount was not acceptable to the Club, and never would be, so the issue was soon over, or at least in my opinion at least."

"At no time did we receive a written offer. No official written offer has been received by Berwick Speedway for the take over of the Bandits. To read recent reports is surprising as the issue had been closed long ago."

"As it stands I'm at the Bandit's helm, as will be for the foreseeable future, although at this precise date I am just not quite ready to divulge precisely the League the Bandits will be appearing in."

"I said all along that until the financial packages were in place there would be no announcements, and as yet, I'm still working, as are others on the club's behalf, to get those finances in place so we can then go public and tell all of our plans."

"We have not been sitting back, lazing the Winter away, far from it in fact. We have been working non-stop to make sure the Bandits open in the Premier League, and whilst there is still a degree of work to complete and companies to deal with first, I feel an announcement won't be too far in coming from us. Let's just hope it's the news we all want to release and everyone wants to hear. We have been working with maximum positive motivations which I'm hoping will bear fruits soon."

" Finally I need to clearly confirm once more - we have never received an official written offer for Berwick Speedway and we are not in any negotiations along those lines what-so-ever."
