Five more years at Armadale.

Edinburgh Speedway were pleased with the outcome of today's West Lothian Council meeting which granted permission for Speedway at Armadale Stadium for a further five years.

The Council meeting was attended by Geoff Craythorne and John Campbell on behalf of the club, and they were impressed with the support from the councillors.

John Campbell said "We had excellent support from all councillors and local (Armadale) councillors Stuart Borrowman and Duncan Maclean both spoke strongly in our favour.

"Thanks to the 54 supporters who took the trouble to write in support of the application. On more than one occasion it was said that there was exceptionally high support for the application."

The planning committee had recommended the granting of a three-year period but the councillors instead awarded five, the same period as the permission which is currently running and expires this month.

The Monarchs, sponsored again in 2007 by Scotwaste, hope to announce the majority of their team on Friday evening at the club's annual Video Night.
