Montoya leads Acura 1-2 after opening hour of Rolex 24
Juan Pablo Montoya moved into the lead of the Rolex 24 at Daytona through the opening hour of the race, heading up a one-two for Acura Team Penske ahead of the pole-sitting Mazda entry.
Starting third in the #6 Acura DPi, Montoya managed to jump into the lead of the race through a close-fought opening salvo at Daytona International Speedway, with just three seconds covering the top seven cars at the end of the first hour.

Kyle Masson headed the LMP2 field for Performance Tech Motorsports in the #38 Oreca 07 Gibson, while GTLM pole-sitter Nick Tandy managed to recover his advantage at the head of his class for Porsche after being passed early on by Corvette's Antonio Garcia.
The sister Porsche factory entry dropped off the lead lap following a splitter issue, while the #67 Ford GT was also forced into an extended pit stop due to an issue.
Trent Hindman hit the front of the field in GTD for Meyer Shank Racing in the #86 Acura NSX GT3, leading from Riley Motorsports' Ben Keating and Rolf Ineichen of GRT Grasser Racing Team.
