Maldonado, Davidson link up with JOTA for WEC 2019-20
Current DragonSpeed drivers Pastor Maldonado, Anthony Davidson and Roberto Gonzalez will link up with JOTA for the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship season as part of an all-new line-up for the British squad.
One-time Formula 1 race winner Maldonado moved into the WEC for the start of the 2018-19 'super season' to race alongside former Toyota LMP1 driver Davidson and silver-rated Gonzalez for DragonSpeed in its #31 Oreca 07 Gibson. The trio remain in contention for the LMP2 drivers' title following their first victory at Spa earlier this month.

Maldonado, Davidson and Gonzalez will continue to race together in the WEC next season, but will shift to JOTA's LMP2 programme that has seen the squad work with Jackie Chan DC Racing in recent years.
“We are delighted to welcome Roberto, Pastor and Anthony to JOTA for our next campaign which looks set to be the most exciting for us yet in the WEC," said Sam Hignett, founder and co-owner of JOTA Sport.
“Recent races have shown all three to have already moulded a potent and race winning combination, so we believe that this can be harnessed to really mount a strong force for the new WEC season.”
"It feels super nice to have our programme already fixed in for the 2019/20 WEC season," said Maldonado.
“I think this will be a great combination between us all after our season together at DragonSpeed which is coming to a close next month at Le Mans.
“The JOTA squad are well-known up and down the paddock for being a very professional and successful team so I cannot wait to go racing with them.”
Anthony Davidson added: “I am really looking forward to be heading into a full FIA World Endurance Championship season with JOTA – together with Roberto and Pastor as my teammates.
"We have enjoyed success together as car crew and hopefully this new partnership will see us fighting for more race wins and the Championship in LMP2."
JOTA is set to confirm the line-up for its #38 entry next month, with the new WEC season beginning at Silverstone on September 1.
