Alice Powell will make her debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship later this month with Heinricher Racing, partnering Katherine Legge in the #57 Acura NSX GT3 Evo.
Powell made her return to competitive racing in 2019 after five years out through the all-female W Series, where she finished third in the final standings and claimed victory in the season finale at Brands Hatch.
Fresh from this success, Powell will now be heading to the United States for the first time in her career to link up with Legge at Heinricher Racing for the race weekend at Virginia International Raceway.
“I am very excited to be joining Heinricher Racing and Meyer Shank Racing for the next round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship,” said Powell.
“This is such a successful and well-respected team. I am looking forward to working with them and settling into driving the Acura NSX GT3. It will be my first time racing in the States and only the second endurance race of my career, so I am very keen to experience VIR."
Legge currently sits ninth in the GTD class IMSA standings, taking a best result of P4 at Watkins Glen so far this season.
