Rebellion expands to two-car entry for WEC Silverstone
Rebellion Racing has confirmed an expanded two-car entry to the FIA World Endurance Championship season-opener at Silverstone on September 1.
After entering two Rebellion R13 Gibson LMP1 cars to the full 2018/19 'super season', Rebellion announced earlier in the summer that it planned to cut back to a single-car entry for the '19/20 campaign, dropping the LMP1 class field to five cars.

After entering two Rebellion R13 Gibson LMP1 cars to the full 2018/19 'super season', Rebellion announced earlier in the summer that it planned to cut back to a single-car entry for the '19/20 campaign, dropping the LMP1 class field to five cars.
However, Rebellion will now match both Toyota and the incoming Ginetta-backed Team LNT with a two-car entry, announcing on Tuesday that it would be returning the #3 car to the field with Pipo Derani, Nathanael Berthon and Loic Duval sharing duties behind the wheel.
"At the end of many negotiations, the Team managed to enter a second car for this first round of the World Endurance Championship and keeps on working to be able to line up two cars in each round of the WEC although priority will be given to Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020," Rebellion president Alexandre Pesci said in a statement.
Berthon was part of Rebellion's line-up for the final three rounds of the '18-19 season, while Derani raced once for the team when it was in the LMP2 class in 2017.
Silverstone will mark Duval's return to the LMP1 class after three years away, having made his most recent start in the category in Audi's swansong race in Bahrain at the end of 2016.
The 4 Hours of Silverstone takes place on September 1.
