Managing director Peter Simpson said the growth of the V8 series has made it the ideal time to increase its involvement in the championship while also maintaining its strong presence in the Carrera Cup.
"V8 Supercars is without doubt one of the fastest growing sports in the country and the audience match extremely well with our key markets," he said. "The majority of our customers are professional tradespeople and they depend on the high quality tools we provide, but we also cater for the handyperson or home renovator.
"Our research shows V8 Supercars and Carrera Cup, the two biggest motor racing categories in Australia, is a great way to reach current and new customers."
Window and door hardware manufacturer Doric will join Glenfords Tools as a major sponsor with the PCR V8 team for the coming season in Australia and team principal, Paul Cruickshank said the involvement of new sponsors had been a key ingredient in reaching the teams goal of racing in the V8 Supercar Championship Series in 2006.
"You can't get far in motor racing without your sponsors and I'm delighted to have such great backing for our inaugural season," he said. "We pride ourselves on being a strong close-knit team and the Glenfords-AEG, Doric and Cowdroy groups are certainly a significant and welcome part of that."
The team will hit the track for the first time at a test in the coming weeks at Queensland Raceway before heading to Clipsal for round one of the V8 Supercar Championship Series from 23-26 March.
