"To have the support of a company such as MAN, that prides itself on quality of product and service, is of enormous benefit to SBR," he said. "We work on such tight timeframes throughout the championship season that the reliability of a team's transport system is paramount. Lateness is not an option and we have absolute confidence that MAN's prime movers will do the job."
MAN Automotive imports marketing manager Don Hanson said he was pleased with the association with the SBR team.
"MAN has a long association with Motorsport in Europe, and we are proud to be a sponsor of SBR, the number one V8 Supercar team in Australia's greatest motor sport category," he said. "The MAN trucks of the SBR team offer world-leading technology and will provide the SBR team truck drivers with superior comfort, enhanced safety systems and proven reliability."
Fully loaded, SBR's B-Double trailer tips the scales at 54 tonne and the merchandise trailer weighs in at 26 tonne. The truck and trailer combinations will be powered by MAN's TG-A 26.530 and TG-A 26.480 prime movers respectively.
SBR's two trucks will do approximately 40,000 kilometres during the year and spend about 650 hours on the road between events.
