The Glenfords Racing team has made its track debut in the V8 Supercar Championship Series, showing solid pace despite Marcus Marshall lining up at the rear of the field for the Clipsal 500.
At the wheel of the #20 Falcon, the former Champ Car racer used the opening practice session to work on set-up at the Adelaide circuit and improved on his lap-time by almost two seconds by the time the second session had come to a close.
Marshall went into 20-minute qualifying session looking to improve on his practice times set earlier in the day and posted his quickest lap in the closing minutes of the session to take 30th on the grid.
"We're still working through things, we knew it was never going to be easy and the day played out exactly how I thought it would, and tat was a tough day in a very tough competition," team manager Paul Cruickshank said after qualifying. "I guess it is a bit like going straight from primary school to Uni, it's a big step-up but this is were we want to be, competing against the best and to do that it takes time to get everything working how you want it."
"Marcus did a good job out there, the car hasn't got a scratch on it and we've learned a hell of a lot in just one day. We're looking forward to tomorrow and getting out there racing."
