Cameron McConville leads the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 in the Supercheap Auto Racing Commodore from Todd Kelly as the famous endurance race settles into a rhythm after an exciting and heartbreaking start.

Former race leader Jason Bright has retired from the race after suffering from an engine running on seven cylinders and a misfire. It was the second retirement today by one of the race favourites, Bright having started alongside polesitter and lap one retirement Mark Skaife. Both Holden Racing Team Commodores are now out after Jim Richards crashed into the wall through the esses on the approach to Forrest's Elbow. Steven Johnson has also retired after crashing out after the second restart on the corner near where Mark Porter and David Clark had their Fujitsu Series crash on Friday.

McConville currently leads the race from Todd Kelly, James Courtney, Paul Dumbrell and Luke Youlden. All of these drivers are circulating well, with former race leader Craig Lowndes having completed a driver change and circulating a little further down the order with the Betta Electrical Falcon at the hands of Jamie Whincup.
