CAT increases Britek involvement.
Despite having ended its relationship with FPR at the end of the 2006 campaign, Caterpillar has revealed that it will continue its strong association with the V8 Supercar Series by ramping up its sponsorship of Jason Bright's #25 Britek Motorsport entry.
Despite having ended its relationship with FPR at the end of the 2006 campaign, Caterpillar has revealed that it will continue its strong association with the V8 Supercar Series by ramping up its sponsorship of Jason Bright's #25 Britek Motorsport entry.
CAT and Bright became synonymous in the final year of both parties' term at FPR, and will remain with the crowd favourite as he switches to his own team to pilot the #25 Fujitsu Racing Ford Falcon. However, after a preliminary two-year partnership with the Britek team, CAT will increase its involvement for 2007, with its branding set to appear on the front, middle bar and rear wing of Bright machine.
"Caterpillar has been a strong supporter of the V8 Supercar Championship Series since 1999 and our increased involvement with Britek Motorsport from 2007 is an exciting development," said the company's Andrew Mason-Jefferies, "We have enjoyed a two-year relationship with Britek Motorsport and genuinely feel that continued benefits for everyone involved with Caterpillar will be achieved with this key sponsorship.
"Adding to that is the fact that Jason will be driving for the team. We have a very strong bond with Jason as he has been part of our V8 Supercar sponsorship since 2005 and has provided us with a number of race wins and podium finishes."
Bright naturally welcomed Caterpillar's increased involvement with his Britek outfit, having taken the risk to leave an established set-up to branch out on his own.
"Caterpillar is an iconic brand and one that we feel very proud to be associated with," he said, "It's critical from a team perspective, but also from a personal point of view, to continue the relationship with Caterpillar. I've really enjoyed working with them and learning the business that they're involved in. I'm positive that Britek can provide great value to the Caterpillar brand and its customers."
Having also revealed that its second car will be sponsored by Irwin Industrial Tools, Britek plans to unveil both its Falcons in early February.
