Australia's longest established V8 Supercar team, Dick Johnson Racing, celebrated a strengthened partnership with major sponsor Jim Beam in the lead up to the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 by unveiling a revised livery for its two Ford Falcons.
The team returned to the iconic Melba's Night Club in Surfers Paradise - the birthplace of the Jim Beam partnership - to unveil a new skin for the cars, with a striking new red, white and black paint job shouting the recently launched 'ready to drink' Jim Beam & Zero Sugar Cola line. The new look Falcons will hit the track at Bathurst next weekend, before also being carried into the following round, back at Surfers, and possibly overseas to Bahrain on one of the two cars.
"This time next week we'll be at Mt Panorama unloading the new look Jim Beam & Zero Sugar Cola Falcons from the transporter and we expect our fans and the competition to be suitably impressed with our fresh look," team boss Dick Johnson said.
The strengthened support of Jim Beam has once again put Johnson's mind at ease following speculation of financial turmoil and business difficulties.
"Jim Beam's support allows the team to concentrate on preparing themselves, and the cars, for peak performance," he confirmed, "Steve Johnson and young gun Will Davison will embark on the great race with a fresh look and a fresh approach. They are more focused than ever for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000."
Andrew Thompson and Alex Davison will pilot the second DJR entry in the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
"The team say they are ready and rearing to conquer the infamous Mountain and, thanks to the launch of Jim Beam & Zero Sugar Cola, they'll do it in style," Jim Beam sponsorship and event manager Kel Constantine said, "They say heroes wear their hearts on their sleeve and we know the team are as passionate about our brand as we are, so it's a very natural partnership. Everyone at Jim Beam is proud of what the team has achieved so far in the series and we're fully behind them ahead of this next big challenge."
