Misano World Superbike FP2 Results: Bautista in unstoppable form
Alvaro Bautista fought back during World Superbi FP2 at Misano as Ducati locked out the top three positions.
Keen to cement himself as the favourite for victory, championship leader Bautista was the early pacesetter to begin FP2.

Extremely fast in sector two, many riders were struggling to match Bautista’s pace although Alex Lowes did as he went quickest.
However, Bautista responded immediately in order to move clear by -0.151s after setting a time of 1:34.326s.
The time set by Bautista was quicker than any of his efforts during FP1, although it didn’t last long as he went even faster on his next lap around.
Dominique Agerter became the first faller on day-one after the impressive rookie crashed at turn one.
Another superb lap then saw Bautista go faster than Razgatlioglu’s top time from FP1, as the reigning world champion began to pull clear of those behind.
While Jonathan Rea joined Lowes inside the top four, both factory Kawasaki riders were still a long way away from Bautista.
Rea’s slow start to FP1 saw him finish seven tenths down on Razgatlioglu, while the six-time champion was unable to break under the half a second margin to Bautista.
Only getting faster, Bautista then went under the 1m 34s barrier to extend his already commanding advantage.
Clearly on different strategies, Razgatlioglu consistently lapping around a second slower than Bautista, something that was far from the case during FP1.
With a third of the session remaining, Razgatlioglu began to up his pace as he jumped ahead of Rea for P4.
While it was sector two that started out as his strongest, sector four became the main area where Bautista was significantly quicker than his rivals.
Bautista was over two tenths quicker than anyone in what is the shortest timed sector on the Misano circuit.
Finding pace late on, Danilo Petrucci followed Razgatlioglu round the Italian circuit before moving ahead of the Yamaha rider on the leaderboard.
Struggling for pace throughout both practice sessions, Honda’s Iker Lecuona suffered a fall late on at turn 14.
