2009 Romanian Supersport champion and 2010 Superbike race winner Catalin Cazacu will take countryman Roby Muresan's seat at PTR Romania Honda at the forthcoming Brno World Supersport round.

27-year-old Cazacu is planning to finish the WSS season with PTR, before mounting a full season challenge in 2012.

"This is a dream come true for me, not only am I joining the highest profile team in Romania, but I will be starting at what is the nearest home round to Romania at Brno - a track that I know well. My aim is to learn the bike quickly and challenge for good position," he said.

"That is ambitious but I know my own ability and the Brno circuit very well. It is also clear from the performances of Sam Lowes, Miguel Praia, James Ellison and Pawel Szkopek that the PTR Romania Honda is a very fast motorcycle capable of running easily in the top 10 and challenging for race wins."

"It has been a long time in discussion with Catalin and now we are delighted to welcome him to the team," said team manager Simon Buckmaster. "He has a lot of confidence and experience at Brno, so we are looking forward to seeing what he can achieve. He is a popular racer in Romania and we hope a lot of his fans come and join us for his first race and keep supporting him throughout the rest of the season, that will help him a lot."

Muresan is hoping to come back later in the season and ride alongside Cazacu.

The seventh round of the World Supersport Championship takes place at Brno on Sunday 10th July.
