Roccoli returns with Kuja Honda
Massimo Roccoli will return to World Supersport Championship action at Brno this weekend after being snapped up by the Kuja Honda team.
The series veteran, who has made 86 WSS starts over eight seasons, began 2012 riding the Bike Service WTR Ten 10 Yamaha, but was ousted when Bike Service and WTR Ten 10 Racing parted ways after five events.
Though he proceeded to impress with a one-off outing on the Yakhnich Yamaha at Misano, when an engine failure scuppered a potential top five finish, Roccoli was absent from competition for the first time in six years at Motorland Aragon.
Nonetheless, having made a brief Moto2 appearance during the Italian Grand Prix riding the SAG Bimota, Roccoli will be back on the WSS grid this weekend aboard a Honda CBR600RR prepared by Kuja Racing.
The Italian outfit has been a WSS mainstay since making its debut in 2009 and has thus far managed a best finish of seventh place, courtesy of Mark Aitchison at Imola in 2010.
Also new to the grid at Brno will be wild-cards Stefan Cruciani - making his third appearance of the season -, his Puccetti Kawasaki team-mate Andrea Agnelli, Austrian racer Stefan Kerschbaumer and local rider Viktor Dusek.
As reported earlier, Brno will also mark the return of Florian Marino, who will ride a Kawasaki ZX-6R for all-new Indian-baked outfit MSD R-N Racing. His prospective team-mate Dan Linfoot will debut at Silverstone as he continues to recover from injury.
