Kieran Clarke in World Supersport return with PTR
Nottingham's Kieran Clarke will return to the World Supersport Championship in 2015 after signing for the PTR-run CIA Landlords Insurance Honda team.
Clarke previously rode for PTR In 2012 and picked up points finishes at Monza in Italy before narrowly missing out on the top 15 at his home race at Donington Park.
Clarke, though, is hoping to challenge for podium finishes this season, even though he is adopting a 'one step at a time' philosophy on his return to the sport.
"Coming back to PTR feels a bit like D?j? vu but now it is CIA Landlords Insurance Honda. This was my first and only choice to return to racing, I was not prepared to compromise with competitiveness at all, I would have preferred to stay out of racing entirely," said the 29-year-old.
"I have complete faith in the team and set up to deliver me a competitive race bike. My ambitions are to run at the front of the Championship and fight for the podium.
"Saying that, my realistic short-term goal is to take it one step at a time; I am under no illusion how hard it will be," he added.
"I have raced for two decades and in the last two years I have been doing stunt work and coaching. I have probably worked more on my riding skills in the last two years than ever as a result. I can't wait to get racing."
CIA Landlords Insurance Honda team manager Simon Buckmaster added: "It's great to have Kieran back in the team and we are looking forward to seeing what he can achieve with a full season on a competitive bike.
"We have high hopes, but they are also realistic and he is one of the easiest and best people to work with, so we can't wait to get started."
