Supercopa winner to race in ETC Cup.

Oscar Nogues has been rewarded for his SEAT Leon Supercopa title win with an opportunity to impress in the upcoming European Touring Car.

The Spaniard fought off Croatian driver Marin Colak for the title, the pair ending the season on the same number of points only for Nogues to prevail by virtue of having more race wins to his name.

His prize for victory is a chance to compete in the end of season ETC Cup, which will take place at the Austrian Salzburg circuit in just over a week's time, driving a WTCC-specification Leon.

"I can proudly say that I am the first champion of this series, but the truth is that it has been a tough and much contested season, with many incidents on the track.

"I'm happy for the victory, but I'm realistic, and I know that Colak finished level on points with me; I just had more victories. So I want to congratulate him, because he also deserves the title."

SEAT ran a unique prize for the winner of each Supercopa round, with the triumphant driver getting the chance to drive a SEAT Leon WTCC run by Independent outfit SUNRED at the following event.

Amongst the drivers to get this chance was Tom Boardman, who competed at Estoril. Finishing sixth overall, he was actually classified below ex-BTCC driver Eoin Murray and also James Nash, although the pair, who finished third and fifth in the standings, never got the chance to race in the WTCC.
